Black R 4440 — Spruce wood panel worked entirely by hand, measuring 30 × 40 cm.
The surface is carved slowly, hole by hole, to create a dense texture of 4,440 holes. A gesture repeated for hours transforms the wood into a vibrant surface, where every mark is a form of life emerging from the material.
Coloured oil penetrates the wood and its cavities, creating variations of black that change with the light and the angle of the viewer’s gaze.
Black R 4440 emerges from a slow, patient process in which the number of holes and the time spent working build a living, magnetic surface.
