Mars Black Violet 5520

Mars Black Violet 5520 — Hand-worked Wood Panel, The Art of Patience

A unique work of art: a 40 × 60 cm wooden panel, worked entirely by hand and painted in oils with artist-quality pigments. Each of the 5520 holes that give this work its name was made with precision and dedication, hour after hour, through careful shaping of the wood. This meticulous process creates a deep texture, a tactile and visual dialogue between the wood and the artist, much as a woodworm burrows to leave an indelible mark. Oil paint, with its slow drying and curing time, takes months to polymerise, giving the work unique depth and durability. Mars Black Violet 5520 is a distinctive piece for anyone seeking a work that brings together nature, creativity and the patience of craftsmanship.
